Week Two and Products

Hey!! There isn't really much to update you guys on with my hair, so I decided to go ahead and let you in on the products that I use.

This is my trusty comb. The tips are round so I don't have to worry about it scratching my scalp when I comb.

This is my castor oil. I used to use my spray bottle to do a water castor oil spritz now I use the castor for prewash and after my conditioner. I also put some on after I give my hair alittle mist.
I absolutely love this stuff!! As you see I'm out and been digging it out any way I can lol. It makes my hair so soft and like I said I just love it!

This is my standby when I don't have any of my curl & style milk. My husband likes this better and the shampoo that goes with it.

This is my shampoo and conditioner that I have been using for my scalp. It feels really good. It has peppermint in it. I would recommend this to anyone that is having scalp issues such as irritation, severe itching due to stress or whatever. It's a neem shampoo and Neem has alot of benefits that we all could use one way or another. I would suggest you do a google search on it.
I forgot the stuff I use to oil my scalp but I will try to post a picture next time. I also have one more thing I do. I love to shampoo my hair in the shower because the water massages my scalp. If you need circulation going to your scalp then that is one thing you could do and it works!
That's all I have for this week. If anyone has any products that they think I should try then I would love to hear your suggestion.

Week One

Last week was my first week but at the time I was debating on doing this blog so I didn't write until now.
I did a prewash with castor oil and combed my hair to section it off to shampoo. I had heard about the benefits of shampooing hair in sections. After reading Ms-gg's blog I finally decided to give it a try.  It was better than what I expected. I didn't have to fight tangled hair and my hair was so soft. I have never been able to comb through my hair like that so now this will be in my regular routine.
I did the whole shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner. It felt very fresh. I styled my hair and I have to say it turned out pretty well.
Because it is only week one I don't have much to update. I will post some pics and write in a few days for week 2. My main concern at the moment is scalp and growing the back edges of my hair out since I did have some breakage.
If anyone have any suggestions for styles that would great!

Hair Journey: Beginning of A New Thing

Purpose:
After 5 years of being natural, I have to admit I had became lazy and careless with my hair. The stress of life among other things had taken it's toll on my hair. This lead to laziness, lack of motivation, split ends, breakage and a very itchy and sensitive scalp.
After prayer and releasing everything back to God as I should have done in the first place; I decided to
fall back in love with my hair and give it the attention it deserves. I have decided to take that extra time to give it alittle more TLC that I started in my journey 5 years ago. I thought it would be helpful if I blogged about it. If I were to blog it would help me track my journey and have that extra push to be consistent as I once was.
I have a few other projects that I will be doing and will share as they develop as well. Most of the projects will correlate with my hair journey some sort of way anyway. I'm starting an indoor garden to improve my eatting habits which will improve hair growth, and playing around with essential oils and crocheting.

Goal:
My goal is to have a healthy scalp and grow healthy, thick big afro hair lol. My immediate goal for the next few months will be just getting back on track with a good hair routine that I will be consistent with and to grow my hair out to chin length when wet. At the moment when stretched it's about neck length. So hopefully by June I will see some major growth.

Routine:
-My routine right now is prewashing, shampooing and conditioning on Sundays.
-Wednesday most likely a co-wash. For some that may be too much but for me it's exactly what I need for my scalp.
-Oil scalp 3x a week.
-Keep my hair in twist protective styles.
-Weekly check-ins on the blog for updates and pics.

Products that I am currently using:
Theraneem Organix Shampoo and Conditioner
Shea Moisture Organic Coconut & Hibiscus Conditioner (leave in)
Queen's Touch of Blessings Scalp Aid
Castor Oil
Water
and a healthy diet!!!

I am excited to be getting back on track. I am always looking for tips, hairstyles and any advice you all may have to give so don't be afraid to leave a comment and let me know. (Questions are also welcomed :)
So until next time...

God Bless!!
Just Elisabeth

The day before the start of my New Journey. Just took it down from two french braids and stretching for length check. Not my best pics but this is a journey blog so who cares...
